1st Sunday of Advent 1st Dec: Focus: Prepare for the coming of the Lord. – As we begin Advent our readings today offer wisdom in discerning what it means to prepare our hearts for the Lord. They are beckoning us to wake up & be attentive to what is around us, for God’s time is at hand. We have the blessing of this season to prepare for the coming of the Lord, & to allow our hearts to be transformed.

SYMPATHY: We remember in our prayers at this time: Philomena McFadden, nee Finan, Belra, London, & Falcarragh,    (sister of James Finan, Belra).

May the Souls of the faithful departed rest in peace

140TH ANNIVERSARY: THE SOLEMN OPENING OF THE NEW PARISH CHURCH OF ACHONRY, THE CHURCH OF THE SACRED HEART MULLINABREENA TOOK PLACE ON 9TH NOVEMBER 1884. TO MARK THIS SPECIAL OCCASION BISHOP DORAN, APOSTOLIC ADMINISTRATOR OF ACHONRY DIOCESE WILL CELEBRATE MASS IN THE PARISH CHURCH ON SUNDAY 1ST DEC. AT 10AM.

Retreat for Eucharistic Ministers, in the Sligo parish clusters will be held in the Pastoral Centre Ballymote, on Dec 1st, from 3-5pm. The retreat will be led by Fr Tom Taaffe, who works in Knock.

 

Christmas Carol Service: In conjunction with C. of I. in Achonry Church at 7:30pm on Tuesday 17th December.

Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. This Solemnity is a Holy Day (which falls on Sunday 8th Dec) is transferred this year to Monday 9th. The Sundays of Advent, Lent & Easter have precedence over all Feasts of the Lord & over all Solemnities. Hence the Holyday this year will be celebrated on Monday 9th at 10am with the vigil Mass on Sunday 8th at 6pm.

THREE HILLS CAFÉ (beside Mullinabreena Church)

To maintain the success of the Three Hills Café we would ask households to commit to supporting at least once every few weeks. Café is open Saturday & Sunday 10am-2pm. Thank you for your continued support.

25 Drive: In St Nathy’s Hall every Friday at 8:30pm

Laughter is what we all need, especially when it's comedy from Cloonacool Players.  Yes, the group is back in rehearsal and has a great cast of firm favourites preparing to entertain you in John B. Keane's classic comedy 'Moll' - to make you laugh and laugh.  

The Annual St. Vincent de Paul Collection takes place on Sun 1st Dec at Mullinabreena church. Without your support we would not be able to continue doing this work. Tubbercurry Conference of SVP

St Nathy’s Ladies' Annual Tractor Run: Sunday 15th Dec. This year we are taking to the dark & lighting up our tractors to get in the Christmas spirit. Registration (€20 per tractor) at 3pm in Bunnanadden Community Centre before hitting the road at 4pm. We will be returning to the Centre with a very special guest, who will help us give away lots of treats & prizes, including a prize for best lit tractor. 

Apostolic Work Achonry/Elphin Dioceses, would like to get in touch with any Parish group helping Missionaries from their area, with the possibility of helping that Missionary with our "Easter Chicken Fund". For more information please contact, Mary Lee, 087 135 3780 or Margaret Haughey 087 207 2400.

Retrofit your home & reduce your bills: St. Brigid's Hall, Tubbercurry on Thurs 5th December from 5pm to 8pm. 

Retrofit Ready are hosting a free event on home retrofitting grants provided through the SEAI & County Council. The event will have stalls from the SEAI, Sligo CC, Sligo LEADER, local insulation suppliers, retrofitting contractors & the Credit Union to name a few. 

Attendees can consult energy experts & contractors free of charge. This will hopefully encourage attendees to consider retrofitting as a method to reduce their home heating & electricity bills. 

Coleman Community Cinema – Christmas Movie. Sat, Dec 7th at 2.30pm. A Boy Called Christmas –in our lovely comfortable theatre. Adm €5 - 1 adult goes free per group. Treat bags are available. 071 9182599.
