GOLDEN JUBILEE: Congratulations & best wishes to Joe & Maureen Lee, Rinbane, who celebrated the Golden Jubilee of their marriage last weekend.

Wednesday 13th March: Today is the anniversary of the election in 2013 of Pope Francis as Supreme Pastor of the Church.

Holy Hour: Prayer & Reflection for Ministers/Readers of the Word & Eucharistic Ministers will take place in the Church of St John Evangelist, Tubbercurry on Sunday 10th March 4-5pm

 

Adoration in Mullinabreena Church 4-7pm on Tuesdays for the month of March.

Masses during Lent: Mass Monday to Friday 10am in Mullinabreena, & 8pm in Achonry. To save any confusion the Saturday vigil Masses from the beginning of Lent will also be at 8pm.

Achonry National School: Enrolment forms for 2024-25 are now available at the church door. If you are interested please take a form with you, fill in the details & return it to the school.

 

Achonry NS Parents Association are holding a clothes collection on 23rd/24th March & 6th/7th April at St Nathy’s Hall 10am -12 noon. All donations of old clothes are gratefully appreciated. All proceeds go directly to Achonry National School.

25 Drive: In St Nathy’s Hall every Friday at 8:30pm.

ACHONRY FARMERS MARKET & THREE HILLS CAFÉ

To maintain the success of both the Three Hills Café & Achonry Farmers Market we would ask households to commit to visit both amenities at least once a month. These amenities offer ideal opportunities for people to get together & are instrumental in creating a dynamic & cohesive Community for us all to live in. Café is open Saturday & Sunday 10am-2pm, with Market on Saturday 10am-1pm. Thank you for your continued support.

First Holy Communion: Sacramental preparation Mass in Achonry Church on Palm Sunday 24th March at 10am.

Mission Appeal: This year the Holy Rosary Sisters have permission to promote their Mission Appeal in Achonry Diocese.  Sr. Mary Gallagher (originally from Gurteen) will be in touch with priests over the coming months to arrange suitable times to visit parishes.

Social Dancing Class: In Cloonacool C.C. every Thursday at 8pm.

 

Bunninadden Community Bowls: Every Tuesday and Thursday from 2-4pm (except Christmas week). New members welcome, age 16 upwards, tuition given. Tea/coffee & biscuits at half time. Nice relaxed atmosphere & a good chance to socialise.

Become a Volunteer Befriender to those living with Dementia & give Family Carers a short break. - “As a Befriender I gained so much. There were lots of parallels between the person living with dementia & myself. We were both living alone, had shared interest, we both had worked in similar professions & similar locations. We shared many interests, stories & life experience. I gained a true friend”. Can you spare a couple of hours per week? A little time goes along way. Living Well is a free HSE programme which helps people living with a long-term health condition to manage their condition & improve their overall wellbeing. Anyone with any chronic illness such as diabetes, arthritis, COPD, cardiac illness, anxiety, etc. can benefit from these workshops. A programme commences in Boyle on Tuesday 12th March. It will be delivered over six weekly workshops (2.5 hrs x 6) by trained leaders. Advance registration is required. Tubbercurry FRC: Want2Walk walking group supported by FRC have organised a series of walks on Wednesday morning in various locations in South Sligo. Some of the upcoming walks will be done in conjunction with Martina from Nature Inspires. The first walk will be held on Wed 20th March Coilrecuil Loop (walk through the bog in Aclare); meeting at Aclare carpark at 10.20am. Walks are approximately 8km, & are done at a leisurely pace.
