6^th Sunday in Ordinary Time 11^th Feb: Focus: Do everything for the glory of God. – Paul’s words are both commanding & encouraging. As Christians, whatever we do ought to reflect who we are: children of the Most High God, adopted sons & daughters of the Lord. We are sisters & brothers of Christ, & our very destiny should permeate all we say & do. We are encouraged in this endeavour, & aided by grace, so that we may glorify God for his sake, & for the sake of the world’s salvation.

The Synodal Journey was launched in October 2021. Many parishioners attended gatherings in our Diocese (& throughout the country) to share their ideas about the Church. These were very helpful meetings & I appreciate the efforts people made to come along & join in the conversations. In order to feedback to parishioners on what has happened since, a very helpful video has been produced.  It is entitled: "The Synodal Pathway, the Journey So Far..." This can be found on our Diocesan Website, www.achonrydiocese.org. I hope this will be helpful in outlining the process so far & charting the next steps on the journey.     

FRC Tubbercurry: Connect Café on Thursday Feb 15^th from 10am-12pm. This is a free drop in Café, all welcome to come for a chat, meet a friend & find out what is happening locally. A friendly face awaits.

South Sligo Social Club, for people with Alzheimer's, Dementia or memory loss & their Family/supporters is back Thursday Feb 15^th at 1.30pm. Divine Mercy Conference: Takes place in the RDS Dublin from 23^rd to 25^th February. It is our second conference to be held at the RDS since COVID. The theme of this year's conference is 'Jesus I trust in You' (Diary of St Faustina). By choosing this theme, we hope that the content & outcome of the conference will serve the people of Ireland in placing their trust in God in these challenging times.

Become a Volunteer Befriender to those living with Dementia & give Family Carers a short break. - “As a Befriender I gained so much. There were lots of parallels between the person living with dementia & myself. We were both living alone, had shared interest, we both had worked in similar professions & similar locations. We shared many interests, stories & life experience. I gained a true friend”. Can you spare a couple of hours per week? A little time goes along way. Living Well is a free HSE programme which helps people living with a long-term health condition to manage their condition & improve their overall wellbeing. Anyone with any chronic illness such as diabetes, arthritis, COPD, cardiac illness, anxiety, etc. can benefit from these workshops. A programme commences in Boyle on Tuesday 12^th March. It will be delivered over six weekly workshops (2.5 hrs x 6) by trained leaders. Advance registration is required.
