The Transfiguration of the Lord – 6th August: Focus: The Father instructs us to listen, & the Son encourages us, do not be afraid. – On the mountaintop we hear two direct commands: Listen to him & do not be afraid. Think of what we might be afraid of. Maybe following Jesus will change us. Perhaps God’s call will mean facing things that are unpleasant. We may even be afraid that decisions made on the mountaintop with Christ will be hard to live out in normal life. Listen to the Lord, & fear not – trust in the power of God.
SYMPATHY: We remember in our prayers at this time: Mary Wynne, Tubbercurry, (sister-in-law of Roger & Stephen Wynne, Castlecawley).
