5th Sunday of Easter 15th May: Focus: Jesus commands us to love one another. – Jesus wants us to love as he loves. Our faithfulness & attentiveness to right & wrong, to holiness, & to the practice of faith is important. Yet Jesus furthers our understanding of following him by making clear the greatest commandment of every disciple: to love as he loves.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

The Adoration will alternate between Achonry & Mullinabreena on a monthly basis after the re-roofing project is complete. However, until the work is complete the Adoration will be in Achonry only every Tuesday 4-8pm. The Rota list is now available & if the hour you were given is not suitable please contact Pauline Finan to make alternate arrangements. If you are not already part of the Adoration team/s but would like to get involved please put your name on the list at the church door or contact Pauline on 0878284019 & you will be added to the Rota.

 

Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock: Takes place on Sunday 15th May. 2:30 Anointing of the Sick in the Basilica. 3pm Mass in the Basilica with Rosary Procession. Achonry will be joined by the Galway & Clonfert Dioceses for the Pilgrimage.

 

'Theology in a Conversation about Hope' 6pm, Thursday 19th May.

'Theology in a Conversation about Hope' is the title of Dr Cornelius Casey's talk that will open Loyola Institute's Festival of Theology at Trinity College Dublin. A two-day conference will follow, for those who want to go further & develop 'new thinking about how Theology, learning & culture' interact. Mullinabreena Community Games Entry forms are on the Achonry/Mullinabreena Community Facebook page. Please print both sides of entry forms, completed entry forms must be signed by a Parent or Guardian. Forms to be returned by Monday 16th May to Achonry N.S.

Community Games Art pictures to be completed at home, & returned to St Nathy's Hall on Tuesday 17th May between 6 & 7pm. The CG track & field events in Nace O’Dowd football field on Sunday 29th May at 1pm.

Achonry Farmers Market: Every Saturday from 10am to 1pm in Nace O'Dowd Park. We look forward to a great year ahead with lots of variety & new ideas, & prices to suit everyone.

Dance for Ukraine: Fundraiser dance will be held in Radisson Blu Hotel, Sligo on Sunday June 12th in aid of 'Rapid Response Ukraine', a Humanitarian Organisation based in Sligo. Johnny Brady & band on stage 9 to 11pm with Michael Jennings as support. Doors open 7pm. Please contribute to this worthy cause by donating a ticket or attending the dance. Covid 19: The number of deaths worldwide is now at 6,288,781 (official figure), experts say the true figure is now over 16 million. Republic of Ireland deaths 7,203. That’s 72 deaths in Ireland last week. The number of positive cases in Ireland is 1,536,451 so 1 in every 3.2 has now tested positive.

Invitation to Festival of Theology. The Festival will open at 6pm on Thursday 19th May with a Public Lecture by the inaugural Director, Prof Cornelius Casey, entitled 'Theology in a Conversation about Hope'.
