5th Sunday in Ordinary Time 6th Feb: Focus: Listen for God’s call & follow the Lord. – In all of today’s readings, people hear the Lord calling them to service, & all of them change course to follow their vocation. Young or old, we all have the responsibility to listen for the Lord’s direction & answer with enthusiasm, as did Isaiah, Paul, Peter, James, & John.

SYMPATHY: We remember in our prayers at this time: Bridget McCarrick, Cloonbaniffe, in her 98th year.

SACRAMENTS

Thurs 17th Feb. 11:30am Confessions for First Communion Pupils. This will take place at a Reconciliation Service in the school.

Saturday 2nd April 11:30am, First Holy Communion.

Ash Wednesday 2nd March 8pm Enrolment Ceremony for the Confirmation pupils.

Thurs 3rd March 11:30am, Confessions for Confirmation Pupils.

Sun 13th March 12noon, Confirmation in Mullinabreena Church. 

Mass Servers

Hopefully the pupils from 3rd up to 6th Class will soon be able to serve at Mass again. However, to have all regulations in place parents need to sign the consent form & return to me ASAP. The servers will have to get ready in the main body of the church unless some parents are prepared to get Garda Vetted & supervise them in the Sacristy before & after Mass.

 

Covid 19: The number of deaths worldwide is now at 5,750,658. That’s 88,369 deaths in the past week. Republic of Ireland deaths 6,228. That’s 92 deaths in Ireland last week. The number of positive cases in Ireland is  1,212,914, so 1 in every 4 has now tested positive.

NEW ROOF FOR MULLINABREENA CHURCH

The contract is now signed & work will begin in March for the roof costing €214,500. This is a big undertaking, but necessary. If you are in a position to help, please know that your support is welcome. Reading the Bible: How to make sense of it: A series of four sessions on how to read the Bible today: These will look at its formation, the various kinds of literature that it contains, the contexts in which the books were composed & some of the key figures & events that we encounter in them. There is no charge.

Banada Abbey Past Pupils Reunion of L.C. Classes 1970 &71. The Reunion in Tubbercurry on Friday 5th August 2022. Looking forward to meeting up with colleagues from those years.
