The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph, Sunday 26th Dec: Focus: Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house? – Jesus is the Son of God, sent out of love to do the Father’s will. Out of love, he obeys. Through the life & sacrifice of Jesus, we become children of God & heirs to the Kingdom, which in turn requires of us – in love – to keep his commandments & do what pleases him. As Christ was meant to be in his Father’s house, so, too, are we meant to join him: in worship here in this life & for eternity in the next. We do this through love of God & one another, with the help of the Spirit he gave us.

SYMPATHY: We remember in our prayers at this time: Bill Crosbie, Carrowcarragh in his 101st year, Fr Kevin Johnston in his 97th year, & his brother Peter, natives of Cloonacool, both of whom died on Monday 20th December, (brothers of the late Michael Johnston, Muckelty).

May the Souls of the faithful departed rest in peace

Dear Parishioner,

It has been an extraordinary year in what looks likely to be continued extraordinary times, learning to live with Covid-19'. Recent weeks have brought about renewed uncertainty in terms of the new Covid variant & its impact on lives, work & schools. I thank all the stewards, altar society & people of the community for their hard work, dedication & commitment in implementing & abiding by the regulations & restrictions throughout this incredibly challenging time. It has not been easy for anyone.

The Christmas holidays has brought an opportunity to spend time with family. It is also an opportunity to remember the joy of Christmas & the hope at the heart of the Christian message. I hope that you get the time to enjoy it & keep safe in the New Year.

Happy Christmas & New Year
