Saturday 25th Sept 8 pm …. (M)

Sunday 26th Sept 10am: …… (M)

1st Reading Num 11:25-29. Psalm Ps 18.

2nd Reading Jas 5:1-6. Gospel Mk 9:38-48.

25th Sunday in Ordinary Time 19th September: Focus: Jesus calls us to humble service. – A common thread in today’s readings is that the marks of faithfulness are humility, peacemaking, & service to the lowliest among us. In the midst of cynicism, which is so often the reality of our modern world, how can we better witness to the world the peace of Christ?

Priesthood in Achonry Diocese – It is worth saying “yes” to God: Six residential weekends in Mullaghmore over the coming months for men who are exploring a call to priesthood. For more info contact Vocations Director, Fr Paul Kivlehan, 094-9860011, or 087- 3683535, E-mail pkivlehan@achonrydiocese.org

SYMPATHY: We remember in our prayers at this time: Beatie Maxwell, Carniara, Breege McCaul, Cavan, & Lisnagore, (sister of Martin Rogan, Achonry, Peggy Barrett, Kerry, (aunt of Martin Golden, Carniara).

May the Souls of the faithful departed rest in peace

Season of Creation:  September 1st - October 4th

The Season of Creation 2021 runs from September 1st (the World Day of Prayer for Creation) to October 4th (the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi). In recent weeks many of us have been overwhelmed by the alarming UN report on climate change. The UN Secretary General, António Guterres, described it as a ‘code red for humanity’. Pope Francis in Laudato Si’ calls faith communities to respond and reminds us that “All is not lost. Human beings… are also capable of rising above themselves, choosing again what is good, and making a new start… [embarking] on new paths to authentic freedom.” The forthcoming Season of Creation is a wonderful opportunity to do just that. The theme for this year’s season is “Restoring Our Common Home”.
