Readers of the Word

Saturday 14th March 8pm: Ella Finan (M)

Sunday 15th March 10am: Orla Scanlon (A)

1st Reading Ex 7:3-7. Psalm Ps 94.

2nd Reading Rm 5:1-2, 5-8. Gospel Jn 4:5-429.

2nd Sunday of Lent 8th March: Focus: A holy encounter with God calls us to act on our faith. – When Peter witnesses the transfiguration of Jesus, & the appearance of Moses & Elijah, his first instinct is to ‘freeze that moment,’ by providing tents for the three of them. But that encounter, like any encounter with God’s majesty & providence, is not meant to be frozen or hidden in a tent. It is meant to move us forward in, & to act upon, our faith.

SYMPATHY: We remember in our prayers at this time: Nuala Grant, Malahide, Dublin, (niece of Padraig Gilmartin, Rinbane). Nuala was tragically killed after being hit by a van while out jogging near her home.

May the Souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.
