6th Sunday of Ordinary Time 16th Feb: Focus: Jesus came to fulfil the law so that heaven could be opened to the righteous. – Jesus’ teachings are not primarily about the joys & easiness of the Christian life, but rather about the commandments that our loving Father gives to us for our freedom & good. He, who is perfect love, made us in love & sent his Son out of love to teach us what it means to partake in his life – both here & forever.

Achonry Saturday 8pm 22nd February: All available servers

Mullinabreena Sunday 10am 23rd February: All available servers

Sunday 10 am Mass: Every Sunday for the next number of months. Once again we will present a candle, prayer leaflets & a chalice to a family each week (the chalice to be returned the following week). The family will pray for the community during their designated week. Sunday 23rd February: the Connolly family.

Missionary Appeal by the Missionary Sisters of St Peter Claver on Saturday & Sunday 22nd & 23rd February. Sr Juli will speak at the Masses on 22nd & 23rd to make an appeal on behalf of the Missions. Sr Juli will tell us about their work & would be most grateful for any support you can give. A collection to help their appeal will be taken up at both Masses

Blood Donation Clinic in St. Brigid's Hall, Tubbercurry Wed 19th Feb from 4.30-8pm. (Restriction on those who lived in Britain from donating blood has been lifted). As always, the demand for blood continues.

Choir Practice: Tuesday 18th at 8pm in Mullinabreena Church in preparation for the Confirmation on 7th March.

St Brigid’s Crosses: Mairead White an amazing young girl who made St Bridget‘s Crosses, which she sold at Moylough, Cloonacool, Achonry & Mullinabreena Churches, & Reggie’s Veggies, & the Credit Union. She raised €1200. We at SCSC Tubbercurry are very thankful & grateful to Mairead & all who bought the Crosses.

Coolaney / Mullinabreena GAA Club - Monthly meeting on Tuesday 18th February at 9pm, in St. Nathy's Hall.

North West Simon Community are looking for individuals, or clubs to host a Tea Day anytime in Feb/March in aid of the local homeless charity. Newman Institute: There will be an Open Lecture entitled ‘Pope Francis, Church Reform & the Amazon Synod’. Fr. Gerry O’Hanlon, SJ will explore the recommendation from the Amazon Synod in Rome last October that married men in the region be ordained as priests & that the female diaconate be re-opened. Cultural Companions at the Hawk’s Well theatre is a new initiative that aims to create a community of like-minded people to attend theatre events and shows together. Banada Tourlestrane Housing Association (BTHA): Supply meals-on-wheels to elderly, the sick, those just returned home from hospital, or others who through circumstances are not able to prepare meals for themselves. The service is daily & can be availed of by calling BTHA office 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday on 071 9181562. Meals are freshly home cooked & consist of a dinner & desert.
