SEAI (Sustainable Energy Association of Ireland) grants & the free “Warmer Homes” scheme is tailored to meet the cost of upgrading homes which have large energy needs. The Warmer Homes scheme, in particular, is of great benefit as home heating is having a severe financial impact on family finances in poor households.

In the past, there was a Sligo Warmer Homes but that organisation is no longer operational. Leitrim Warmer Homes can accept & manage applications for free insulation from Sligo homeowners. With a growing emphasis on energy efficiency in homes & the rising cost of home heating, many low income & fuel poor households are unaware of the help available to make their home more energy efficient, warmer & cost effective to heat.

Leitrim Warmer Homes is a Community Based Organisation & serves the counties of the North West. We are a registered SEAI contractor in the North West & we are independently audited.

Throughout the winter of 2019/2020, we will be looking to include as many Sligo residents as possible in the free Better Energy Warmer Homes Scheme so they can avail of the funding before any changes may be put in place. We will also include information about grants available for other eligible households thereby reducing the financial impact of energy efficiency upgrades.
