17th Sunday in Ordinary Time 28th July: Focus: Do all things for & in the name of Christ. – It can be easy to find ourselves stressed & overburdened by our duties, work & obligations, as Martha does in the Gospel. And in the midst of that, it is easy to lose sight of what is most important in all this busyness – doing all things for & in the name of Christ.

The annual national pilgrimage to Croagh Patrick ‘Reek Sunday’ takes place this Sunday 28th July.  Mass on the summit on the hour with the first Mass at 8am & the last Mass at 2pm. Confessions will be available on the summit from 7:30am to 2pm.

Foundation in Counselling course: Will commence at The Newman Istitute, Ballina, on 10th October 2019. The course runs for 26 Thursday nights from 7 to 10pm & 2 Saturdays from 10am to 5pm. The cost is €1200 which can be paid in instalments. There is a deposit of €100 required to secure a place. The annual Young Adult Catholic Conference takes place in All Hallows College, Dublin on Sat August 31st & Sun Sept 1st 2019. A weekend packed full of interesting events for young Catholics. GAA Notes: Coaching & Games Development Plan 2019 – 2021: This will be used as a framework to build on our existing coaching structures & provides a valuable tool in assisting our coaches going with the development of our players going forward. Thanks to all who contributed to this plan.

Last weekend the club held its annual 5k run which has gone from strength to strength over the last few years, this year was a great success with over 200 runners. Many thanks once again to the large number of volunteers who helped out. The proceeds will be split 50/50 between the C/M GAA Club & Coolaney Astro Pitch Project.

The Senior team played the last league game of the year away to Eastern Harps on Saturday 13th & came away with a good win. The lads are now looking forward to the start on the senior championship with our first outing v Coolera Strandhill.

The minor team lost the B shield final against Drumcliffe Rosses Point by 2.10 to 2.03 in Scarden on Saturday evening last. 

 

Mother Baby Group: The mother baby group meets in the FRC every Wednesday from 10.30am. The group is informal and mums come for a chat and a cuppa. On occasion activities take place or guest speakers are invited to talk to the group on topics of interest. A warm welcome awaits.

The Coleman Music Centre- Junior Music Session with Fiona Doherty every Saturday throughout July & August at 8:30pm. All junior musicians are welcome.  Also Wednesday night Summer Sessions continuing on July 31st

Banada Tourlestrane Housing Association (BTHA): Supply meals-on-wheels to elderly, the sick, those just returned home from hospital, or others who through circumstances are not able to prepare meals for themselves. The service is daily & can be availed of by calling BTHA office 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday on 071 9181562. Meals are freshly home cooked & consist of a dinner & desert.

Ceolaras Coleman: The Michael Coleman Story continues at 8:30pm on Aug 21st. Tickets €12. Come along & enjoy this musical dramatization which tells the story of the world renowned fiddle player, Michael Coleman (1891-1945).

Come on down to the market for lots of local produce - beef, lamb, herbs & veg, bread & eggs - as well as crafty stuff. Stock up on dried goods without any plastic packaging. Take a seat in the cafe & enjoy freshly ground coffee & cake. Something for everyone.
