15th Sunday in Ordinary Time 14th July: Focus: God’s commandments are written in our hearts. – Today we are challenged to love God with our entire being & our neighbour as ourselves. On the face of it, these are difficult commandments to live out day after day, but Moses reminds us that they are written in our hearts. Our task is to listen to God’s word & carry it out in out at each moment, in each situation we face.

The annual national pilgrimage to Croagh Patrick ‘Reek Sunday’ takes place on Sunday 28th July.  Mass on the summit on the hour with the first Mass at 8am & the last Mass at 2pm. Confessions will be available on the summit from 7:30am to 2pm.

Ox Mountain Adventure Camp are running their annual summer camp from the 16-19th & 23rd-26th July from 10 am til 2pm each day. Limited places available. Please contact us on or 071 9181920/ 0871362703. 

Mother Baby Group: The mother baby group meets in the FRC every Wednesday from 10.30am. The group is informal and mums come for a chat and a cuppa. On occasion activities take place or guest speakers are invited to talk to the group on topics of interest. A warm welcome awaits.

The Coleman Music Centre- Junior Music Session with Fiona Doherty kicks off on July 6th at 8.30pm & every Saturday night throughout July & August. All junior musicians are very welcome to attend this session.  We also have our Wednesday night Summer Sessions starting on July 10th & continuing on July 24th & 31st

The Pilgrim Players – Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. 19-21 July at the Bishop's Palace, Ballaghaderreen. Friday, 19th at 7pm (grounds open from 6pm). Sat, 20 July at 3pm (open from 2pm) & 7pm (open from 6pm). Sunday, 21st at 3pm (open from 2pm) €18 (under 14’s free to Saturday matinee).

Banada Tourlestrane Housing Association (BTHA): Supply meals-on-wheels to elderly, the sick, those just returned home from hospital, or others who through circumstances are not able to prepare meals for themselves. The service is daily & can be availed of by calling BTHA office 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday on 071 9181562. Meals are freshly home cooked & consist of a dinner & desert.

House concert featuring three singer song writers at Moy River Folk Club in Cloonacool on Saturday 20th July. Gary Ferguson, Johnny Tanner & Roy Thompson, visit the south Sligo venue as part of their current Irish tour. Booking on 087 2512030.

Family Focus Week at Knock Shrine from July 15th -20th.  It will include family prayer times at 3pm & 7pm as well as workshops on family matters at 8.30pm in the Family Centre. On Tuesday the workshop will address problems with addiction, on Wednesday it will assist those struggling with grief & loss. On Saturday 20th the blessing of young children (0-12yrs) at 12noon. All are welcome.

Ceolaras Coleman: The Michael Coleman Story will take place on July 17th at 8.30pm. This is the first of 2 performances this summer with the 2nd on Aug 21st. Tickets €12. Come along & enjoy this musical dramatization which tells the story of the world renowned fiddle player, Michael Coleman (1891-1945).

Archery & orienteering

Family & Childcare Resource centre: Archery on Monday August 12th for 8-12 year olds, & 13-17 year olds. Orienteering on Tuesday 13th August for 5-7 year olds, & 8-12 year olds. Each session is an hour long & costs €2. More details on 0719186926.

Parent and Toddler Group Volunteer Leader

The FRC is looking for a person to lead out a parent & toddler session on Monday mornings from September. Someone with an interest in babies & toddlers, arts & crafts & music.
