The Big Hello: In celebration of The National Community Weekend, the community is invited to participate in a Community Folklore Collection Event in Carrowmore School, Lavagh on 4th May, between 12 - 5. The event is hosted by the Achonry Mullinabreena Community Enhancement Group & is kindly sponsored by Sligo LCDC. The purpose behind this event is the recording of local customs, traditions, folklore & experiences of the older generations within the community as they were growing up, by way of conversations with the younger generations. Refreshments will be served. The event will also be an opportunity to view an audio visual of some of the 4,000 photographs of people & events within the community in times past, gathered during the course of photography exhibition in October 2018. A similar event in the Ox Mountain Heritage Centre on Monday 6th May, 11am-5pm

BALLYMOTE DARKNESS INTO LIGHT: The local DIL committee want to help people to get online & register. It’s such an important event & the money is making a concrete difference on the ground in Sligo with a Suicide Bereavement Liaison Officer providing real help to real people. Registration on Monday 29th April in Corran College from 2pm-6pm.

The Sam Maguire Cup will visit our Club on May 4th. This will be an opportunity for young players & their families to get their picture taken with the cup in what promises to be exciting day for the club.

Banada Tourlestrane Housing Association (BTHA): Supply meals-on-wheels to elderly, the sick, those just returned home from hospital, or others who through circumstances are not able to prepare meals for themselves. TubberRocksThis is a new art project being run by the FRC in conjunction with the local library. A fun new game of Hide & Seek with Rocks! To find out more follow our facebook page @TubberRocks. Breastfeeding Support group. This new peer support group is for all pregnant & new & experienced mothers & dads. The group meet on Tuesdays in the FRC from 10.30am-12.30 midday. Information & support provided by Lifestart staff. All welcome.

Kayak tasters for Adults Temple House. Sligo sport & recreation partnership are offering adult Kayaking taster session on May 2nd(men only), 9th (women only), & 16th (mixed) from 7-9pm. Town Twinning 20th Anniversary of the twinning between Viarmes & Tubbercurry. A group from South Sligo will be travelling to Viarmes from May 9th- 13th. There will be various activities including a day trip to Paris organised by our French hosts. The cost of flights are reasonable at the moment with Ryanair.
