The Epiphany of the Lord 6th January: Focus: The Epiphany points the way towards life. – Today the Church celebrates the Epiphany of the Lord: the manifestation to the Gentiles (in the persons of the Magi) of the life of God himself, God, who in the person of Jesus, shared in our humanity in order to allow us to share in his divinity forever. Like the Magi, each person’s journey to Christ has its own direction & trail; & for each who pays Christ homage & offers the treasures one holds, the reward is the same: a path away from the dangers of sin & death & toward life.

SYMPATHY: We remember in our prayers at this time: Dermot Gallagher, Donegal, (nephew of Anne Gorman, Carrowcarragh).

May the Souls of the faithful departed rest in peace

On New Year’s Day Minister Shane Ross announced a 4% drop in road deaths. 156 died on the roads in 2017, the number was down to 149 for 2018. It’s good that the number is dropping & that 7 less died on the roads last year. At the same time Minister Simon Herod announced a tumultuous day for the country when more than 10 lives will be terminated every day throughout the year. Simple Simon’s & HSE will kill a lot more than Mr Ross has saved. 7 lives saved by government crusade, over 3000 lives will be terminated by government crusade. Can anybody see reason or justice in what is happening.
