The changing of the Eighth Amendment is "a total betrayal of women & their unborn babies & represents a tragic drift backwards for society rather than a step forward. The Brexit debacle in Britain & Trump hightailing it around the world & thinking he is doing “great” & “tremendous” work while at the same time he can’t get on with his nearest neighbours in Mexico & Canada, well, he wouldn’t hold a candle to the mess our country now finds itself in. We are not a liberal Ireland but a criminal Ireland. A liberal Ireland would allow everyone to live no matter what colour, race, creed or religion, but a criminal Ireland decides who has the right to life, & kills off the most vulnerable of all, the baby in the womb. A country that has fought for equal rights for years now goes against all that by deciding to terminate the life of the unborn baby. How sad? How much lower can our country go? I suppose they will move now to kill off the sick, the terminally ill & the aged! The Same–Sex Marriage Referendum three years ago was run on the pretext of equality. Where was the equality for the baby in the womb in this referendum? In his very last public speech fifty years ago last week Robert Kennedy spoke about tolerance, equality & inclusion. A few minutes later he was assassinated. There’s no tolerance, equality or inclusion for the unborn, they too, are terminated in a few minutes. Kennedy with a bullet, the baby with the stroke of a pen.
