A 3k Family Fun Walk will take place on Sunday 27 May at 1.30pm from Achonry National School. This is ideal for all the family, grandparents, extended family & members of our community & beyond to get together & walk & talk, get some fresh air in a safe environment. Refreshments served at the school after the walk. This is a school fundraiser & all proceeds go to Achonry National School. Entry €10 per family or €5 per individual adult or donate. Register at 1pm.  Activities for kids after the walk at the school. We hope all families will be represented at this walk. Please support. 

Choir Practice: For Achonry & Mullinabreena Choirs on Thursday at 7pm in preparation for Emmet O’Dowd’s Thanksgiving Mass in July.

A Parents Association Meeting on Wed 23^rd May at 9pm in St Nathy’s Hall in connection with the Family Walk (see above). Anyone interested in helping with Parking, Stewarding, Registration, Catering etc please attend.

Scoil Mhuire gan Smál, A talk on Cyber Bullying & Internet Safety for Parents, in Ballymote N.S. on Thurs 7^th June from 7-9pm. In today’s technology-rich environment most of us feel woefully inadequate when it comes to knowing what our children are really experiencing when they use the internet. This is normal & to be expected. However, as parents we have a fundamental duty of care for our children, & unfortunately that means getting a grasp of the things that our children are experiencing on line. Please spread the word & all are welcome.

FRC Notices: Free Adult Cycling Skills Workshop suitable for adult beginners & novice cyclist will take place at Tubbercurry FRC on Thurs June 14^th from 7-8.30pm. Learn to ride a bike with confidence in a small group with friendly instructors. Full lesson will take place in the carpark away from the road & traffic. Bike & helmet provided upon request. Summer Camp for Parents. Lifestart in partnership with FRC will be running an exciting new course for Parents from the 18^th-21^st June called Sharping Ourselves & Our Children. The course is informal & a place for parents to have fun & learn about how their children develop their emotional & social skills at home. It’s for parents of children aged 0-6 & it’s free. Drummartin Indoor Country Market: (9km from Tubbercurry beside Joe Dan’s Pub). Every Saturday 10.30 to 12.30. Coming up on Saturday 9^th June our Birthday Bash. There will be live music, guest sellers & a barbecue. Plus our usual great selection of local produce & crafts. We are also introducing ‘zero waste’ rice, oats &flour - bring your own container & pay by weight. Why not take a seat in the coffee shop & enjoy some fabulous homemade cake while you are here.

The North West Simon Community official opening of their charity shop at 4 JFK Parade, Sligo on Thurs 31^st May at 4pm. Margaret Heffernan a voluntary Board Member of North West Simon Community will cut the ribbon. Congratulations to the children who received their First Holy Communion on Saturday 28^th April. Sincere thanks to Maureen Lee, Co-ordinator, & all the parents who helped with the "Do this in Memory" programme. Congratulations to the children of our parish who were confirmed on 15^thApril. We express our gratitude to the principal, teachers & staff of Achonry N.S. for their commitment & dedication. A particular word of thanks to the teachers of our sacramental classes, & to the choir who enhanced our ceremonies. Also to all who cleaned & prepared the Church.
