The Gospel Paul preached to them, & the Gospel we hear today, is filled with the power of the Holy Spirit: let our lives bear witness to its truth & power.

Diocesan Launch of World Meeting of Families Preparation

Families from all the parishes of the diocese are invited to gather in the CBD Sports Hall in Charlestown on Sunday, 12th Nov from 3 - 5pm for the diocesan launch for this event. Any families interested in attending please contact Fr Peter soon as we are limited to 20 places at the Launch.

Annual General Meeting of Achonry National School Parents Association takes place on Tuesday 24 Oct at 8pm in St Nathy's Hall. School Principal Ms Cora Kivlehan will attend & address the meeting. All parents are invited & are strongly encourage to attend this meeting. It is important our Parents Association continues to grow & provide on-going support for our children & our school.

Coolaney/Mullinabreena GAA are thrilled to announce an event sure to have a huge appeal near & far. 'TubbeRocks', A major rock gig of epic proportions headlining the superb talents of Sligo musicians, Shane McGowan, Seamie O'Dowd, Kieran Quinn, Ken McDonald & Donal Cunnane in St. Brigid's Hall, Tubbercurry on Friday, October 27th. This brilliant band of legends are widely renowned & will combine for one night to form an eclectic group for an event not to be missed. Support acts: Lana Moore, Daragh McDonagh, Colin Marren, & Fergus McGowan. Gerry Farrell in "An Ordinary Man" comes to Cloonacool C C on Sunday 22nd Oct, 8pm. Written & directed by John McDwyer, this moving & emotional one man show will bring audiences from tears to laughter. Not to be missed.

Tubbercurry FRC

Halloween Trick or Treat for Temple Street: FRC Parent & Toddler group will host a Halloween party or under 5’s on Tues 31st Oct. All funds to Temple Street Children’s Hospital.

Odyssey Parenting Your Teen; Parenting NI has developed a breakthrough programme for parents of teenagers which is one of the most effective in the UK. This programme is now being offered in Sligo. It has been developed to give parents more of an understanding of how to manage their teenagers. It is ideal for parents of young people aged 12-18 years old & sessions cover issues such as parenting styles, teen development, self-esteem, rules & consequences, conflict & problem solving. If you feel you could use help & support with your teenager come along to this 8 week programme for practical tips & advice. Want To Walk; Our weekly walking group will meet at Aclare Village Car Park on Wed 25th October at 10.20am. All walkers welcome. The walk will last approximately 1hr 15 min. Come along & enjoy a scenic walk, have a chat & enjoy the fresh air. We look forward to welcoming new walkers.

South Sligo Athletic Club junior training every Tuesday with our trainer Dermot McDermott & our own coaches. Training takes place in St. Attracta's hall for 6,7,8 year olds 6.30-7.15 pm &  9 years plus 7.15-8 pm. Senior training every Tuesday meeting at the FRC car park at 8:30pm. Club members also meet every Thursday & Saturday for training sessions to cater for all abilities.
