21st Sunday in Ordinary Time 27th August: Focus: Belief in Jesus as the Messiah is central to being a disciple. – Peter’s statement of faith that Jesus is the Messiah, the son of God, comes not from human knowledge, but through a revelation from God. As Jesus announces that Peter is the bearer of the keys of the kingdom, Peter is given the power to bind & loose. Similarly, Jesus gives us unique gifts by the power of the Holy Spirit that we are to use to bear witness to the Gospel.
