3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time 22nd January: Focus:  Each & every day, Jesus calls us to make the choice to live as faithful disciples. - Today’s Gospel tells of how Jesus calls Peter, Andrew, James & John to come & follow him. All four respond immediately to Jesus’ call by leaving everything behind to go & follow him. Similiarly, Jesus calls us to follow him & live as his faithful disciples each day. Do we have the faith & courage to answer his call?

May the Souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.

Achonry Diocese 27th January: This day is the anniversary of the episcopal ordination of Most Rev. Brendan Kelly in 2008.

 

Eucharistic Adoration: The diocese of Achonry is setting up a Diocesan Adoration Committee to develop the practice of Eucharistic Adoration in the diocese. You are welcome to attend an Information Meeting in the Pastoral Centre, Charlestown, Saturday, 11th February 11am. Refreshments served. See poster in church for further details.

Community Games area swimming is on Saturday 28th January at 3pm sharp in Sligo sports complex.

SafeTALK is a half day training programme that prepares participants to identify persons with thoughts of suicide & connect them to suicide first aid resources. These specific skills are called suicide alertness & are taught with expectation that the person learning them will use them to help reduce suicide risk in their communities. Following a safeTALK workshop, you will be more willing & able to perform an important helping role for people with thoughts of suicide. Monday 22nd May, Sligo, 2-5pm. Advance booking essential. Tommy Marren of Mid-West Radio presents his play ‘Nobody’s Talking To Me’ in St Brigid’s Hall Tubbercurry Thursday 26th January 8pm. Tickets on sale in Killoran’s, Gillespies Sports, Margaret Kennedy’s. A most entertaining evening of sheer joy & laughter is guaranteed from a very talented group of comedy actors. All are welcome. This is a fundraiser towards the upcoming All-Ireland Confined Drama Finals which will be held in Tubbercurry from Friday 21st to Sunday 29th April.
