Mary the Mother of God 1^st January: Focus: The Blessed Virgin Mary is the holy Mother of God, & our spiritual mother. - Today, the Church honours the Blessed Virgin Mary, who was chosen by God the Father to be the mother of his Son. As Jesus was both fully human & divine, the Church confesses that Mary is truly "Mother of God". So may we join together this day in adoring Mary, who is the Mother of God & our spiritual mother.

The Epiphany of the Lord 6^th January: FOCUS: God lavishes upon us gifts beyond our merit. - Today's readings demonstrate the gratuitous nature of God's love for humanity. Recognizing this benevolence, we, along with the Magi, prostrate ourselves & pay homage by offering our supreme gifts - our faith, hope & love - in the service of our generous, loving God.

SYMPATHY: We remember in our prayers at this time: John McGauran, Ballisodare, (father of Breege McGuinness, Cloondrihara).

May the Souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.
