2nd Sunday of Easter 24th April: Focus: My Lord & my God!- When we receive the Eucharist, the body, blood, soul & divinity of Jesus are substantially present, yet disguised under the appearance of bread & wine. As with Thomas, the Lord gives us the ability to see & believe in him. A good prayer for the moments of consecration, then, is the confession of faith that Thomas makes: My Lord & my God!

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

The Adoration will alternate between Achonry & Mullinabreena on a monthly basis after the re-roofing project is complete. However, until the work is complete the Adoration will be in Achonry only every Tuesday 4-8pm. The Rota list is now available & if the hour you were given is not suitable please contact Pauline Finan to make alternate arrangements. If you are not already part of the Adoration team/s but would like to get involved please put your name on the list at the church door or contact Pauline on 0878284019 & you will be added to the Rota.

A Note from Bishop Paul

As part of our engagement with the Synodal Pathway, initiated by Pope Francis, I am holding a number of facilitated listening events in four venues across the diocese over the next few weeks. These meetings will be an opportunity for all of us together to reflect on our Church, to look at what is helping us to grow as communities of faith & to see where we can better support one another in our faith journey. Many parishioners have already returned their responses to the questionnaire I sent out last month, & I am grateful for those, which have surfaced many issues on which we will all need to reflect. The forthcoming meetings provide a further opportunity for us to hear one another in an even more open way. The meetings are open to all who wish to share their views on the Church, & I would welcome especially those who may feel alienated or who have felt let down by the Church in the past. It is by listening to one another & being in conversation that we can best discover where God is leading us at this time. Feel free to come to the venue which is most convenient for you.
