2nd Sunday of Christmas 5th Jan: Focus: The Child born in a manger at Bethlehem is also the Word made flesh. We are called to share in Christ’s divinity.

The Epiphany of the Lord Monday 6th Jan: We celebrate the revealing of God’s plan to the Gentile nations: the magi represent those non-Jewish peoples who accept the Gospel of Jesus, & with the magi we can give thanks that we have been included in the offer of the Good News.

WEEKEND MASSES: January

Saturday 8pm: Mullinabreena. Sunday 10am: Achonry.

Adoration cancelled in both churches on 7th January. Resumes on 14th Jan.

SYMPATHY: We remember in our prayers at this time: Beetie Smyth, Tubbercurry, (sister of Teecie Coleman, Carrowmore, & the late Seamus Conway, Cloondrihara), Christy O’Grady, Gurteen, (husband of Eileen Coleman, Carniara).  

Baptism: We welcome into the Christian Family through the sacrament of Baptism: Cillian Hyunwoo Devaney, Churchpark, & Dublin.

Wedding: Congratulations & best wishes to Josephine Marren, Streamstown, & James Kilroy, Charlestown. Their marriage took place in Mullinabreena Church on Tues 31st December.

The first Annual Mass for deceased staff & pupils of Benada Abbey, St Attracta's & the Marist Convent Schools will take place on Sat 18 Jan at 8.30pm in Tourlestrane Church. Afterwards all are invited to Benada Abbey Hall for Tea & Coffee which will allow you to intermingle with old classmates & former pupils. Tubbercurry FRC Rainbows Programme:  Rainbows is a free, listening, peer, group support service that provides support for children from the age of 7, after they have experienced a Parental Separation and or Bereavement. Tubbercurry FRC Rainbows will offer a 9 week listening, group support programme starting on Thurs 30th Jan 6–7pm. Anam Cara Galway the organisation that supports bereaved parents, is holding a Parent Evening on 8th January at 7:20pm in The Clayton Hotel, Galway. This is a free event & open to all bereaved parents.

Banada Tourlestrane Housing Association (BTHA): Supply meals-on-wheels to elderly, the sick, those just returned home from hospital, or others who through circumstances are not able to prepare meals for themselves. The service is daily & can be availed of by calling BTHA office 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday on 071 9181562. Meals are freshly home cooked & consist of a dinner & desert.

Ceoláras Coleman: Annual fundraising concert on Sat 11th Jan at 8.30pm & what a line-up of acts there are instore including special guests: Fr Mc Donagh, McGrath Family, Horan Family, Junior Davey, Nora O Connor, Megan Walsh & many more.
