3rd Sunday of Advent 15th Dec: Focus: Jesus is the long awaited Messiah. – Advent is a season of hopeful anticipation, a time of preparation – for celebrating the birth of our Saviour, & of readying ourselves for his eventual return. In God’s goodness he gave us his own Son, who willingly took on our humanity to save us. Jesus forgives sins, heals the suffering & teaches the truth – he is the long-awaited Messiah.

Coolaney / Mullinabreeena GAA Club - Christmas concert will take place on Sunday 22nd December at 6pm, in St. Nathy's Hall. Anyone who would like to participate in the concert should contact Leo Coleman or John Marren.

Christmas Ceili in St Nathy’s Hall Thursday 19th Dec. from 8.30-11:30pm. Music by Laighne Ceili Band.  Admission €10. Refreshments served. This is a fundraiser for our Annual Christmas Party. Everyone welcome.

Community Enhancement: The AGM of Achonry Mullinabreena Community Enhancement group took place recently & the newly elected members of the committee are as follows: Chairperson – Michael Toolan, Vice Chairperson – Bernie Finan, Secretary – Caroline Coleman, Assistant Secretary – Margaret Gallagher, Joint Treasurers – Michael O’Dowd & Martin Coleman, PRO – Bríd McDonagh & Assistant PRO – Elaine Conroy.  Ann Marie Gorman is co-ordinating the book swap so if you have any books you would like to donate or swap please contact Ann Marie. At the AGM, the group reviewed the projects that were carried out in 2019 & look forward to building on their success in the coming year.

Christmas Carol Service: In conjunction with local Church of Ireland group in Achonry Church on Thurs. 19th Dec. at 8pm. Bishop Rooke, C. of I., & Fr Dermot Meehan Adm. Achonry Diocese will attend.

New Dementia Family Carers support group St John's Community Hospital Tues 17th Dec (3rd Tuesday each month) 7:30-9pm.

A new film called “Love & Mercy: Faustina” about the life of St. Faustina & the Devotion of the Divine Mercy will be shown at the IMC Cinema, Ballina, on Monday 16th Dec at 8.30pm. Entry €10, OAPs €8.50. Bookings please phone: (096) 77616

Car Boot Sale: Foxford Leisure Centre from 10am-2:30pm a range of products from Christmas wreaths, fancy bakes, knitwear, decorations & much more. We wish our patrons a peaceful & safe Christmas.

Banada Tourlestrane Housing Association (BTHA): Supply meals-on-wheels to elderly, the sick, those just returned home from hospital, or others who through circumstances are not able to prepare meals for themselves. The service is daily & can be availed of by calling BTHA office 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday on 071 9181562. Meals are freshly home cooked & consist of a dinner & desert.

Drummartin Indoor Country Market: (9km from Tubbercurry on Ballina Rd beside Joe Dan’s Pub) from 10.30am – 12.30pm on Saturday. Come on down to the market for lots of local produce - beef, lamb, herbs & veg, bread & eggs - as well as crafty stuff. Stock up on dried goods without any plastic packaging. Take a seat in the cafe & enjoy freshly ground coffee & cake.

The last Country Market this year will be on Sat 21st Dec. Come along for handmade wooden cribs & knitted Christmas decorations. Thanks to all our customers & friends for the support over the years. A new venture will be starting at the centre around February time - more news to follow.
