28th Sunday in Ordinary Time 14th October: Focus: God offers us perspective of eternity. – In a secular world, so many people today have a limited perspective, valuing & pursuing what they see before their eyes & what benefits them in this current life. God calls us, as followers of Jesus, to take the longer view – to pursue eternal values, trusting that God will also give us what we need here & now.

On this very special day every Church, in every parish across our globe will give what they can, no matter how little, towards the World Mission Sunday collection. Your contribution will be used to help spread faith, hope & love by supporting overseas missionaries, many of whom work in some of the world’s most impoverished & remote communities. If you can’t contribute on the 21st, you can donate €4 now by texting the word ‘Mission’ to 50300. (Texts cost €4. World Missions Ireland will receive a minimum of €3.60). Helpline 076 680 5278.

WEEKEND MASSES: From 1st January 2019 there will be one Saturday vigil Mass at 8pm (alternating as usual), but there will only be one Sunday morning Mass, this will also alternate each month for the foreseeable future at 10am. Many areas throughout the country have lost Masses, had churches closed or parishes amalgamated, none of this was due, however, to lack of vocations or shortage of priests, but was caused by lack of a congregation.

Altar Society: Thanks to the people who joined the Altar Society & are helping out on a regular basis & doing a great job in Mullinabreena Church. However, more volunteers are needed & would be very much appreciated. Please consider adding your name to the helpers or contact Fr Peter or any member of the Altar Society. Why not give a little of your time to help keep your church looking good? One or two hours a month would be sufficient.
