17th Sunday in Ordinary Time 30th July: Focus: Every good thing that happens to us provides a glimpse into the joy that will be ours in heaven. - When good things happen to us, we get an idea of what the kingdom of heaven is like: it is always time for celebration. Happily, we do not have to wait until we die to join the celebration. For by placing our faith in Jesus & living according to his teachings, we can experience the blessings of the kingdom of God amidst our lives on earth.

HOLY DAY MASS TIMES: From 15th August onwards the Vigil Mass will continue in Achonry at the usual time of 8pm, however, the Holy Day morning Mass in Mullinabreena will be at the new time of 10am.

Achonry Mullinabreena Community Enhancement MEETING on Tues 1st August at 9.30pm in Parochial House. Everyone welcome.

Altar Society: Thanks to the people who joined the Altar Society & are helping out on a regular basis & doing a great job in Mullinabreena Church. However, more volunteers are needed & would be very much appreciated. New helpers could be added to the Rota at any time. Please consider giving a little of your time to help keeping your church looking good.

Carrowmore School: Rambling House / Social on Sat 12th Aug from 2pm. After last year’s very successful reunion the Friends of Carrowmore School invites the community to come along again for tea / coffee / light refreshments, music, song & stories. Roll books will be available to view, plus photos from last year. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Primary Schools competition for Childrenat Bonniconlon Show. With various classes: eg posters, poetry, painting, cookery etc. Entry forms available at church door with info sheet. €1 per entry. Coleman Music Centre: Summer Seisiún every Wed at 8:30pm featuring our resident group showcasing traditional music at its best & you are entertained with a variety of traditional music, song & dance. 

The Michael Coleman Story; this very special performance tells the story of the world- renowned fiddle player Michael Coleman (1891- 1945) on Wednesday Aug 2nd & Aug 23rd. South Sligo U12  Grupai Ceoil - C.C.E. Paddy Killoran  have qualified for Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann in Ennis from 13th-20th Aug. A fundraising Night takes place in Nathy Brennan’s on Friday 4th August at 9pm to help with expenses for the trip. The U12 Groupi Ceoil will perform on the night along with other Fleadh qualifiers in different age groups & categories. A raffle will take place & your support is greatly appreciated. Well done to all musicians & tutors & best of luck in Ennis at the All Ireland Finals.

Summer creative writing workshops for youth & adults – youth workshop Aug 14-17th 1-4pm €95. Adult: Aug 12th 10-1pm writing the short story & 2-5pm writing the novel. Drummartin Indoor Country Market: (9km from Tubbercurry beside Joe Dan’s Pub) On Saturday 29thJuly we’re having a fundraiser for Sligo Rose, Lisa Maloney. There will be music, raffle with a fabulous prize & a children’s workshop. So that’s a day not to be missed!

Sligo Leader Partnership Co on behalf of the Digital Skills for Citizens program. Digital Skills for citizens is a basic internet computer class run for people with no or a limited knowledge of the internet. It is a free 10 hour course which takes place over 5 two hourly sessions in centres across Co. Sligo. It is aimed at helping these people to develop their basic internet browsing skills.
