May I wish you & all in our community a Very Happy Easter & may we all remember Easter is a time for hope, renewal of spirit, rekindling of faith & rejoicing in the triumph of the Lord.

Easter Sunday 16th April: Focus:  Alleluia! Jesus Christ, our Lord & Saviour, has risen – let us rejoice & be glad. – Today, & for the next fifty days, we will celebrate & rejoice in the triumph of Christ over the power of death. It is our primary & foundational Christian feast. Through it, the course of human history is changed forever as Christ has, in the words of the Exsultet, broken “the prison-bars of death & rose victorious from the underworld.”

Choirs of Mullinabreena & Achonry: Many thanks to both Choirs for their continued loyalty & support & their beautiful singing & music.

Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus or Verona Fathers, will visit our parish next weekend of 22/23 April. Their visit is for two purposes: to strengthen missionary awareness & to raise funds for their missions. They usually preach briefly after the Gospel with a collection after Holy Communion. They will distribute free literature & prayer leaflets which include magazine enrolment forms (the magazine is free). Their official name is Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus or Verona Fathers, since they were founded in Verona (1867) by St Daniel Comboni, the first bishop of Central Africa Vicariate. He also founded the Comboni Missionaries Sisters. They number about 1600 Priests & Brothers. They also have Comboni Lay Missionaries serving in 42 countries worldwide.. They are engaged in evangelisation & human promotion in many fields: health, education, refugees, justice & peace etc. Almost all their new members are now coming from mission countries. They are based at 8 Clontarf Rd, Dublin 03AK50. They look forward to meeting you the parishioners, confident that the great love of the Irish people for the missions will grow even stronger & that your help & prayers will bring even greater blessings on our parish & on their missions. See: http://www.misna.org/en also http://www.comboni.org/welcome

"We cannot forget the experience we live in the mission where the celebration is always a feast, where the encounter with the community of Christians is lived in joy, where the thirst for the Word of God is insatiable, where sharing creates community & the encounter with our brothers & sisters reveals to us the face of God."
