5th Sunday of Lent 2nd April: Focus: Jesus promises that those who believe & follow him will never die. – Today’s Gospel recounts Jesus saying, I am the resurrection & the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live. These words clearly identify Jesus as the Son of God, the author of life & the one who brings our salvation. The words also give the promise & hope of eternal life in heaven to all who believe in him & persevere in faith.

SYMPATHY: We remember in our prayers at this time: Rita Brennan, Curry, (aunt of Martin Rogan, Achonry), baby Catherine Katie McIntyre-Ryan, (daughter of Padraig Ryan & Sheila McIntyre, Tubbertelly).

They will distribute free literature & prayer leaflets which include magazine enrolment forms (the magazine is free). Their official name is Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus or Verona Fathers, since they were founded in Verona (1867) by St Daniel Comboni, the first bishop of Central Africa Vicariate. They come from over 30 nationalities serving in 42 different countries worldwide (Africa, Central & South America, Asia, as well as Europe & N. America).
