2nd Sunday of Lent 12th March: Focus: The Transfiguration brings together the law, the prophets & the saving act of Christ. – Today’s Gospel tells of Jesus taking Peter, James & John up a mountain where he was transfigured before them. Similarly, Jesus invites each of us into a deep relationship of love with him so that he may change & transfigure our lives & hearts. Let’s accept this invitation each day so we may lead more Christ-like lives of love & service.

Choir Practice in Achonry Church on Wednesday 15th at 8.30pm in preparation for St. Patricks Day Vigil Mass.

The annual collection for Emigrants on St. Patrick's Day. The monies go to "supporting vulnerable Irish overseas". It is a very worthy cause.

Tales of St. Patrick: Award-winning storyteller Rab Fulton performing at a free family event celebrating St. Patrick, at the National Museum of Country Life, Turlough Park, Castlebar, on Saturday, March 18. South Sligo AC 44th 5K/10K race on St. Patrick's Day in Tubbercurry. This is a chip timed race & starts at 12 noon. We have almost 100 members on our couch to 5K programme. With the St. Patrick's Day 5K their first 5k race. This year’s race charity is the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust. It is our privilege to support this charity. Tubbercurry FRC are hosting a Taking Control Workshop developed by Shine (in conjunction with HSE), which aims to help participants find new ways to face life challenges & set goals. This will empower participants to work with their own resources & strengths to help overcome issues which are causing them worry & anxiety & to set achievable goals. This would be perfect for anybody who feels they have ‘hit a wall’ or are struggling in some way to overcome a problem. It may be beneficial for those who have found themselves unemployed or who are coming to terms with the unexpected. From 10am-4pm on Tuesday March 28th in the FRC.  A light lunch provided. Sprocket Rocket Easter Camp in association with Sligo Sports & Recreation Partnership on April 10th, 11th, 12th from 10am-1pm, & isl aimed at 7-10 year olds. The Western Drama Festival is hosting the All Ireland Confined Drama Finals in St Brigid’s Hall Theatre from Fri 21st - Sat 29th April.
