The Baptism of the Lord 8th January: Focus: Jesus’ baptism by John the Baptist inaugurated his public ministry. - Jesus being baptised by John the Baptist was an important event in his life. After he was baptised, the Holy Spirit descended upon him like a dove, & a voice was heard from the heavens declaring, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” It is also important in that it officially marked the beginning of Jesus’ public ministry.

SYMPATHY: We remember in our prayers at this time: Phil Smith, (husband of Beatie Conway, & brother-in-law of Teacie Coleman, Carrowmore, & the late Seamus Conway, Cloondrihara).

May the Souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.
