33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time 13th November: Focus: Jesus gives us the grace & strength needed to persevere in faith. – Throughout his life & ministry, Jesus taught clearly that there is a cost to living as his faithful disciples. We may be rejected or persecuted for the sake of our faith. We need not fear, however, for Jesus promises to give us the grace & strength to persevere.

Novena for Year of Mercy concludes on Sun. 13th Nov.

As we come to the conclusion of the Year of Mercy we offer this Novena of Mercy for a great out-pouring of God’s Mercy on us all. On the Church in our parish, diocese, & country. We also remember people throughout the world affected so grievously by war & conflict at the present time & who are crying out for mercy.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION: “Do This in Memory” Programme for the children preparing to receive First Holy Communion continues on Sunday 20th Nov at 11:30am Mass in Mullinabreena.

Achonry National School Parents Association have organised a Cyber Bullying & Internet Safety Brief in St Nathy’s Hall on Tuesday 22nd  Nov 7pm. Cyber Bullying & Internet Safety are two of the biggest concerns facing parents today. It is important that we as parents understand the potential risks that exist for our children on the Internet, Mobile Phones & Tablets. (Free admission).

Abuse is a serious matter & there are 5 main types of abuse.

Physical: Hitting, kicking, shaking, or hurting a person physically

Emotional: Making a child feel unloved, stupid or scared

Sexual: Anyone using a child to satisfy their own sexual needs or those of others. It may be touching or exposing private parts or images.

Neglect: Depriving a child of food, warmth, affection, or love.

Bullying: Repeated physical abuse, verbal of psychological aggression directed by an individual or a group against others or attempts to exclude a person from a group.

Sligo Leader Partnership Co. is currently delivering a programme for people who would like to learn how to use the internet but have no previous skills or experience with computers. Venues: Gurteen, Tubbercurry, Collooney & Sligo town. The course comprises of four two hour classes at a total cost of €20. Computers & training manuals provided.
